Vejo depois o espírito dela enlouquecido com o seu filho desfalecido nos braços sangrando, numa verdadeira cena de histeria.Pergunto a Luis Carlos o que posso fazer para ajudá-los? O conflito de três anos na Síria já deixou mais de 191 mil mortos até abril, disse nesta sexta-feira a Organizações das Nações Unidas (ONU). É mais que o dobro do número estimado pela ONU um ano atrás.

A comissária de Direitos Humanos da ONU, Navi Pillay, qualificou a estimativa de "escandalosa". Ela acusou o governo e grupos rebeldes sírios de crimes de guerra e criticou o que chamou de "paralisia internacional" na questão.
"Tragicamente, este número provavelmente subestima o número verdadeiro de pessoas mortas durante os três primeiros anos desse conflito assassino", disse Navi Pillay.
A porta-voz da ONU criticou ainda o Conselho de Segurança da organização, dizendo que a falta de ação do órgão permitiu centenas de milhares de mortos em zonas de conflito.
"Os assassinos, destruidores e torturadores na Síria foram fortalecidos pela paralisia internacional", disse.
A estimativa foi baseada no cruzamento de dados de quatro diferentes grupos de monitoramento e do governo. O maior número de mortes foi registrada na província de Damasco, com 39.393 mortes, e em Aleppo, com 31.932. A ONU havia interrompido a contagem de mortos em julho de 2013 alegando que não poderia verificar suas fontes.

The three-year conflict in Syria has left more than 191,000 dead until April, said on Friday the United Nations Organization (UNO). That's more than twice the estimated UN number a year ago.

The Commissioner of the UN Human Rights, Navi Pillay, called the estimate "scandalous". She accused the government and Syrian rebel groups of war crimes and criticized what he called "international paralysis" on the issue.

"Tragically, this figure probably underestimates the true number of people killed during the first three years of this murderous conflict," Pillay said.

The spokesman also criticized the UN Security Council the organization, saying that the lack of action the agency allowed hundreds of thousands of deaths in conflict zones.

"The killers, torturers and destroyers in Syria were strengthened by the international paralysis," he said.

The estimate was based on data crossing four different monitoring groups and the government. The largest number of deaths was recorded in the province of Damascus, with 39,393 deaths, and Aleppo, with 31,932. The UN has stopped counting the dead in July 2013 claiming that he could not verify their sources.
