Paixão de Cristo – Paixão da Terra

Para os cristãos a Sexta-feira Santa celebra a Paixão do Filho do Homem. Ele não morreu. Foi morto em consequência de uma prática libertadora dos oprimidos e de uma mensagem que revelava Deus como “Paizinho”(Abba) de infinita bondade e de ilimitada misericórdia que incluía a todos até “os ingratos e maus”. Antes de ser executado na cruz, foi submetido a todo tipo de tortura. Segundo alguns intérpretes sofreu até abuso sexual.
Como referem os relatos do Novo Testamento, usando palavras do profeta Isaias, “foi considerado a escória da humanidade, o homem das dores, pessoa da qual se desvia o rosto, desprezível e sem valor, tido como castigado, humilhado e ferido por Deus; mas ele, justo e servo sofredor, se ofereceu livremente para ficar junto aos malfeitores, tomando sobre si crimes e intercedendo por todos nós”.
Desceu até o inferno da solidão humana, gritando nos extertores da cruz: “Meu Deus, meu Deus, por que me abandonaste”? Porque desceu até ao mais profundo, Deus o elevou até ao mais alto. É o significado da ressurreição, não como reanimação de um cadáver, mas como uma revolução na evolução, realizando nele, antecipadamente, todas as potencialidades escondidas no ser humano. Ele irrompeu como criatura nova, mostrando o fim bom de todo o processo evolucionário.
Mesmo assim, como dizia Pascal, Cristo continua em sua paixão,agonizando até o fim do mundo, enquanto seus irmãos e suas irmãs, a Terra que o viu nascer, viver e morrer, não forem finalmente resgatados. Já dizia a mística inglesa Juliana de Norwich (1342-1413): “ele sofre com todas as criaturas que sofrem no universo”. Outro contemplativo inglês, William Bowling, do século XVII, concretizava ainda mais afirmando:”Cristo verteu seu sangue tanto para as vacas e os cavalos quanto para nós homens”.
Hoje a paixão de Cristo se atualiza na paixão do mundo, nos milhões e milhões de sofredores, vítimas de um tipo de economia que dá mais valor ao vil metal que à dignidade da vida, especialmente da vida humana. O Cristo se encontra crucificado na Terra devastada; suas chagas são as clareiras de florestas abatidas; seu sangue são os rios contaminados.
A rede de organizações que acompanham o estado da Terra, a Global Footprint Network, revelou no dia 23 de setembro de 2008, exatamente uma semana após o estouro da crise econômico-financeira que, neste exato dia, se tinham ultrapassado em 30% os limites da Terra. Chamaram-no de The Earth Overshoot Day: o dia da ultrapassagem da Terra. Esta notícia não ganhou nenhum destaque nos meios de comunicação, ao contrário da crise financeira que até hoje ganha a primeira página.
Com esta ruptura, a Terra já não tem condições de repor os bens e serviços necessários para a manutenção do sistema-vida. Em outras palavras, a Terra perdeu a sustentabilidade necessária para a nossa subsistência. Por causa disso, milhões e milhões de seres humanos são condenados a morrer antes do tempo e entre 27-100 mil espécies de seres vivos, segundo dados do conhecido biólogo Edward Wilson, estão desaparecendo a cada ano. Este fato inaugura aquilo que alguns cientistas já denunciaram como sendo uma nova era geológica. Foi chamada de antropoceno, na qual o grande meteoro rasante e destruidor da natureza é o ser humano.
Com sua voracidade e obsessão de crescer mais e mais para consumir mais e mais está se transformando numa força avassaladora dos ecossistemas e da Terra como um todo. Comparece como o Satã da Terra quando deveria ser seu anjo da guarda.
A Avaliação Ecossistêmica do Milênio, organizada pela ONU entre os anos 2001-2005, envolvendo cerca de 1.300 cientistas do mundo inteiro, além de outras 850 personalidades das várias ciências e da política, concluíram que dos 24 serviços ambientais essenciais para a vida (água, ar puro, climas, alimentos, sementes, fibras, energia e outros) 15 deles se encontravam em processo acelerado de degradação. Quer dizer, estamos destruindo as bases físico-químico-ecológicas que sustentam a vida sobre o planeta.
Agora não dispomos mais uma Arca de Noé que salve alguns e deixe perecer os demais. Desta vez, ou nos salvamos todos ou todos corremos o risco de perecer.
Neste contexto vale recordar as sábias palavras do Secretário Geral da ONU Ban Ki Moon, proferidas no dia 22 de fevereiro de 2009 referindo-se à crise econômico-financeira em relação à crise ecológica:”Não podemos deixar que o urgente comprometa o essencial” É urgente encontrar um encaminhamento à crise dos mercados e das finanças, mas é essencial garantir a vitalidade e a integridade da Terra. Sem esta salvaguarda, qualquer outra iniciativa ou projeto perdem sua base de sustentação.
Temos que transformar a paixão da Terra num processo de sua ressurreição na medida em que suspendermos a guerra total que movemos contra ela em todas as frentes. Isso somente se alcançará refazendo o contrato natural que se funda da reciprocidade: a Terra nos dá tudo o que precisamos para viver e nós lhe retribuímos com cuidado, respeito e veneração, pois é nossa grande e generosa Mãe.
Esta é o desafio e a mensagem que cabe assumer na Sexta-feira Santa do presente ano de 2012.
