Obras do projeto de navegabilidade do Capibaribe recomeçaram. Previsão para transporte começar é dezembro
As obras do projeto de navegabilidade do Rio Capibaribe foram retomadas esta semana, após paralisação temporária acarretada pela demora no repasse dos recursos do governo federal. A dragagem do canal de navegação voltou a ser realizada na última segunda-feira, após o Ministério das Cidades liberar R$ 29 milhões. Lançado em 17 de janeiro do ano passado, o projeto só teve os serviços iniciados três meses depois. A previsão inicial era que transporte fluvial começasse a operar em junho, antes do início da Copa do Mundo, mas o prazo foi estendido para dezembro.
A dragagem era realizada em dois pontos ontem nas proximidades da BR-101, na altura de Dois Irmãos, Zona Oeste do Recife. Em cada trecho, uma retroescavadeira retirava a lama do rio e despejava o material numa caçamba. Na entrada de Olinda, no Rio Beberibe, uma retroescavadeira também dragava sedimentos. "Essa dragagem do Beberibe, embora não faça parte diretamente do projeto de navegabilidade, é um trabalho relacionado", disse a engenheira da obra, Camilla de Souza Gato.
De acordo com a Secretaria Estadual das Cidades, os trabalhos foram interrompidos no início de fevereiro. O dinheiro foi enviado na sexta-feira passada. Em nota, a assessoria de imprensa da pasta informou que 900 mil metros cúbicos de resíduos serão dragados ao todo. Ainda segundo a secretaria, já houve a dragagem de 410 mil metros cúbicos, ou seja, menos da metade.
Em relação às sete estações de embarque e desembarque que ficarão nas rotas Norte e Oeste, cinco estão em andamento (Recife, Derby, Santana, Torre e BR-101) e duas não foram iniciadas (Correios e Tacaruna). As 13 embarcações que transportarão 10 mil passageiros por dia ainda não chegaram. O galpão de manutenção dos barcos está sendo erguido no bairro da Ilha do Leite, área central do Recife. As duas rotas fluviais terão, ao todo, 13,5 quilômetros de extensão.
O custo total do projeto de navegabilidade, que integra o Programa Rios da Gente, é de R$ 190 milhões. "Resta o pagamento de R$ 16 milhões. Segundo o governo federal, o repasse será feito em março", afirmou a Secretaria das Cidades, em nota. As obras são executadas com recursos do Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC) da Mobilidade e contrapartida do tesouro estadual.
